Women in the workplace still having problems!
everyone is having a very enjoyable weekend.
This morning I'd like to touch on a favorite peeve of mine and that is women
in the workplace. Let's be honest here: Despite the fact that there have
been many positive changes for women in the workplace, there is very much
more that needs to be done when it comes to women having more than a decent
opportunity at being able to compete on a level playing field. A recently
published survey in the United States reveals that upon graduation, women
can expect to make an average of less than 20% in their chosen profession
and it gets even worse for them as time goes on. This survey also reveals
that even after the first three years in the workplace, the difference in
salary for women versus men is 30% less for women.
How can women be expected to be motivated to do their best at their chosen
jobs and professions when these types of stats exist? True it is that women
have come a long way in improving or closing the gap in the workplace, but
it's simply not enough. The majority of corporate boardrooms in the united
States are still being run by men. Women are still very much under
represented in the boardromms across America, and I believe that women only
make up about 5% of boardrooms today. There still exists that famous glass
ceiling for women in the workplace and there's no denying it.
Women have started to become more and more prominent in the medical field
and recent trends are showing that more and women are graduating as medical
professionals and at the same time less and less men are doing so. However,
it's not the same in the business field. As a matter of fact, the number of
female graduates from business schools across America is dropping
drastically and the experts are saying that this may have to do with women
becoming fedup and tired of being treated like second class citizens in the
boardrooms and the workplace as a whole.
I think that it's time for women to start thinking of creating their own
opportunities. The time has come for women to become more creative, more
innovative, and more imaginative. The small business and entrepreneurial
world awaits those women who are committed and serious about becoming true
business leaders. Time for women to think about showing off their skills,
grit, and it can be done. If you're not sure how to start looking, where to
look, and what to do, then please give a read to the info below.
