Cuba after Castro?

Good morning!  I'm Kerry J Harrison at the business desk and on this cold morning I'd like to let my wander a bit to what might happen after Fidel Castro is gone.
It is no secret that America is really interested in getting their hands on Cuba after Castro passes on.  For many years they have tried unsuccessfully to take Cuba away from Castro but for many reasons their efforts have failed miserably.  It all started with the Bay of Pigs effort way back when and over the years America has continued to enlist the help of disenchanted Cubans to help them in their efforts but Castro has managed to thwart these efforts.
What really could emerge when a very sick and dying Castro finally goes?  This is the million dollar question being asked by several experts.  One school of thought is that nothing will really change.  Fidel's brother will continue to rule in the footsteps of his brother.  Cubans living in Cuba will continue to live according to the rules that have been around for well over 40 years.  Cubans living in America will continue to find ways to send gifts of money and clothes to their relatives in Cuba.  Persons traveling from Canada to Cuba will continue to take gifts to Cuba on behalf of Cubans living in America.
Then, we could allow ourselves to dream a bit and draw a picture like this:
Cuba will be liberated according to the dictates and whims of the United States.  America will find ways to create business opportunities for Americans wishing to do business with Cuba.  The Cuban economy will adopt a new face whereby the Cuban economy will be westernized and accordingly Cuba will be dragged into the present and out of a stage of living in an era of 50 years ago.  Tons of opportunities would be opened up for trade between Cuba and the Western world especially so with the United States.  Cubans would be able to enjoy a better standard of living.
Whatever the outcome, it would be very interesting to see how things shape up for this little island.  As I see it any of the following situations is possible.
1  Cuba will continue to exist in the same way as when Castro was ruling.
2  America will find a way to take control of Cuba.
3  Cuba will team up with Venezuela and others in Latin America to continue being a headache for succeeding American presidents.
Wait and watch.

I'll leave you with some vital info that you may very well find useful if Cuba ever becomes a bed of opportunity for Americans.
